The scariest places in the world

There are many mystical places on earth that cause fear and horror in people. They are filmed in photos and videos, legends tell about them, make ratings of the worst of them, and travel companies even sell tickets to such places. Many of them appeared as a result of natural disasters, and some became the result of human life.

Mystery and mystery, different spirits and ghosts were attractive at all times. They are relevant today. We will name some of them.

Horn of Africa or Afar Basin located in the countries of Somalia and Ethiopia. The geological activity here is such that the earth constantly moves and shudders from earthquakes, there is active volcanic activity, abysses suddenly form in different places.

Beautiful and at the same time dangerous is Mount Washington in the United States. Its height is 1917 meters. At the top, the strongest wind speed is observed, about 400 km / h.

The Danakil desert, located in Ethiopia, is called hell. Its surface is covered with frozen volcanic lava, the earth boils underfoot, and the stones melt, hot air is saturated with sulfur fumes harmful to human health.

In Turkmenistan, there is a place called the “Gates of Hell”, to be near them is really scary. In 1971, as a result of an accident at a drilling station, the gas exiting the fault caught fire, which cannot be extinguished to this day.

In New Guinea, there is the city of Port Moresby, where cannibals live. Local residents do not need to catch and eat a stranger. They do not like to work, and it’s difficult to find work there, but you always want to eat.

In Italy, there is a ghost island called Povella. The corpses of those who were dying of the plague were brought here in the Middle Ages. In the 50s of the last century, a clinic for the mentally ill was located there. Her head physician was a fan of conducting various experiments on patients, and then he went crazy. Killed by jumping from the lighthouse.

Many nightmare stories spawned another psychiatric hospital – Hellingley, where in the last century, fifteen hundred patients were held in terrible conditions and where they practiced different methods of treating mental illness.

In the world there are several ghost towns, which at one time the inhabitants left for various reasons. For example, the city of Centralia in the United States was the victim of a fire. Previously, anthracite was mined here, the best grade of coal, which burns very slowly. After coal deposits caught fire 50 years ago, it is impossible to extinguish them until now. As a result, the surface of the earth in the city was covered with cracks, spewing caustic smoke. Residents were evacuated. It is assumed that coal in this place will burn for another 250 years.

Aokigahara Forest in Japan is literally strewn with suicide corpses, which are most often either hung or poisoned. Those who choose to take their own lives come here voluntarily.

In Malta there is a museum of instruments for torture, located in the basement of one building. The real instruments of torture are demonstrated here. The wax figures of the victims look like they are alive. Presented even a re-enactment of scenes of executions.

This is not the whole list of hellish places on earth that are known today. The worst of them has not yet been determined, though, which could be worse than hell.
