Seychelles: exotic for the sophisticated

Most restaurants in the Seychelles accept orders only until ten in the evening – after this time they either close or continue to work until all visitors finish dinner. Until late only bars work here.

Cuisine and Restaurants Seychelles
The basis of local Creole cuisine is seafood, rice, curry and coconuts. The most popular Seychelles dish is fish and rice (pwason ek diri). It’s also worth a try here tec-tech sea shell soup, stewed breadfruit, “Saint-Jacques” stewed bananas, coconut-like coconut pudding and bananas. The highlight of the Seychelles cuisine is bat stew.

The classic local drinks are Saber beer, tint citronel lemon mint, fermented kalu coconut juice, and a reasonably strong “tank” drink made from fermented sugarcane juice. Also, you can always find on the islands excellent South African and French wines, which are imported in large quantities to the islands.

What to see in the Seychelles
The main attractions in the Seychelles are mostly exclusively of natural origin. The snow-white or even pale pink sand of the beaches, the unique nature of the tropics, stones made of multi-colored marble, clear water and an amazing underwater world. The sunsets look fantastic and the ocean is amazingly affectionate.

On the islands, you should definitely go to Cousin Island to meet George and Georgeina, a pair of old turtles. This colorful couple often haunts tourists so that they pay attention to them and scratch their necks.

From May to September, about 1.5 million black terns live on Bird Island, which can be reached in 30 minutes by plane from Mahe Island. And here lives the local star – a giant tortoise-longevity Esmeralda. She (or rather, he) is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest tortoise in the world.

On the island of Curiez, you can watch a large colony of giant turtles and admire the dense thickets of tropical plants. By the way, this island also has a national marine park.

Only 15 km from Praslin is Arid Island, which serves as the main “gathering place” for seabirds throughout the region. Also, this island is the only place on the planet where you can see a lemon tree.

St. Anne’s National Marine Park is located on six small islands. A guided tour of them begins with a boat trip with a transparent bottom, through which tourists can watch the underwater life of coral reefs. Further, the path goes to the island of Moyen, the private property of a certain Mr. Grimshaw. Grimshaw has been living on this island for a long time, but is still trying to find the pirate treasures allegedly once hidden here. You can explore the island, look at the historical ruins and pirate graves, and even look for that treasure.

Nightlife seychelles
Lovers of vibrant nightlife can be very disappointed: all local entertainment in the Seychelles is represented by several discos and casinos. There are only three casinos on the Mahe island, but one on Praslin, there are very few night clubs and they are often quite boring. But throughout the year on the islands there are many different festivals and sporting events, the most famous of which are the Creole Culture Festival and the Great Regatta.

Surfing the seychelles
For surfing, the best places in Seychelles are Mahe and Praslin. Grand Anse Beach, which is located in the northwest of Mahe, is the most popular among surfers – the waves here can reach two meters in height. Of the other Mahe beaches, Anse Bougainville and Beau Vallon are suitable for surfing. The period from November to April is the best season for surfing in the Seychelles.

Fishing in seychelles
For sophisticated fishermen, Seychelles is simply a paradise on earth. Here you can catch barracuda, tiger shark, mako shark and tuna. But the most coveted trophy for every fan of fishing in the tropics is blue marlin or blue swordfish. The weight of this treasured fish can reach and even exceed 400 kg.

If you want to try your luck, it is better to go fishing early in the morning to catch small fish for bait. The best fishing season in Seychelles is from October to April.
